I love how the last of your five steps is "Action". It is through action that we readjust and reconfigure our efforts as needed before moving forward. Should be a great read.

Thanks! Yes that's what it's all building up to - getting our thoughts and ideas straight so we can push them out of our heads and into action!

Love the vibe! The energy is fantastic. I’ve gathered most of the raw content for my book and stopped working on for long periods of time. I would love to hear more of your book writing and how it is working out for you!

Woo thanks Amanda! I'm curious about what's been keeping your project paused? I feel like there's a risk early on (at least for me) that having too much raw material starts to seem hard to approach. But I keep reminding myself that all that raw stuff could be evidence that the hardest part is over 😅

It's overwhelming, to be honest. It was unwieldly in Word, so I split it up between two massive Word docs. Then I put it in a Google doc, which is much easier to scroll in and not so slow to load. I'm aware that it needs significant cutting and shaping. I feel I went about it all backwards. I don't have an outline, I don't have chapters. I have a copied transcript of my journal entries and now I need to organize them in a way which flows which may not respect the timeline of when things were written. Like maybe I need to pull text to create sections of themes, and within the themes the journal entries can be chronological. Honestly, it's so in my head at the moment that picking a direction has seemed impossible. The answer has not landed in my lap as to the logistics of how to address the putting together mystery. So I've let it sit while I pursue lower hanging fruit. That is part of my goal on Substack this year - to find other writers who become like coworkers so I don't feel that my book (or my writing) is living in a black hole.

I hear you on the scrolling. Once Gdocs introduced the tabs feature, that changed everything for me!

It sounds like you got off to an awesome start and landed right in the "messy middle" of it all. Hooray, haha! Sometimes letting stuff simmer is a good call, and then you'll suddenly have a vision for how it might come together when you least expect it :)
