So interesting to find you and your posts! I’ve been thinking about this a lot recently… I often get ooh I can do this… until the next thing comes along! I want to start a substack but even struggling with what that would be!
Aw hi Claire! 👋 And from my experience, starting without a super clear idea is totally fine because as you keep writing week after week, you'll find your voice and patterns in what topics you're drawn to. That's part of the messy magic of the creative process! Let me know if you do start something up! ☺️📝
I would say to start with whatever you're most interested in. If it's longer-form writing (like blog-style posts, essays, etc.) - and/or any of the other audio and video tools, then your best bet is to start a Substack publication. That way, you can also start growing an email list of subscribers, if that's important to you. But if you are more interested in doing very short posts, being social, restacking what you're reading, and not necessarily building a list of contacts, then Notes is perfect!
I would say many successful outcomes in business and other endeavors follow a non-linear, messy path. I think of the phrase to encourage entrepreneurs: Ready....fire....aim!

Thank you! Would you just start with using notes then?
